AAM 100 Hours Fundamental Training & Apprenticeship Program
HOW CAN YOU BECOME A LICENSED PERMANENT MAKEUP ARTIST IN NEW JERSEY?
COMPLETE OUR 100-HOUR FUNDAMENTALS COURSE
This comprehensive course, developed by Charis Lenox owner of Brows Boutique, focuses on the latest techniques in eyebrow, eyeliner, and lip cosmetic tattooing. You’ll gain extensive hands-on practice and in-depth knowledge, including performing 2 eyebrows, 2 eyeliner, and 2 lips procedures on live models, to kickstart your career.
FINISH AN APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM
Building on your foundational skills, the second part of your training requires the completion of an additional 9 procedures: 3 eyebrows, 3 eyeliner, and 3 lip applications. This extensive practical experience is mandated by the state of New Jersey as part of the licensing requirements for permanent makeup artists, ensuring you’ll further refine your techniques and gain confidence across a diverse range of client needs.
PASS THE AAM BOARD EXAM
The final step in your journey to becoming a certified permanent makeup artist in New Jersey is to successfully complete the AAM Board Exam. This comprehensive assessment, which includes both written and practical components, is conducted online and demonstrates your expertise in the field. Please note that the examination fee of $397 is the student’s responsibility and must be paid directly to the AAM.

Charis Lenox has been a Board Certified Permanent Makeup Artist since 2017 and now she is also a Platinum Certified Trainer by the American Academy of Micropigmentation.
